Please note: Bus passengers from Singapore have to get off the bus at Singaporean immigration and customs, wait for all the passengers to get back on the bus and get off again with luggage at the Malaysian border.

Please note: Public buses will be booked full in advance on Malaysian public holidays and school holidays so do not book buses last minute.

There are two departure points for the ferries to the island – Mersing in Johor state and Tanjung Gemok (Endau) in Pahang state. Bluewater ferry and Cataferry operate from both Mersing and Tanjung Gemok starting March 2020. Both Bluewater and Cataferry can be booked online but for the time being the Bluewater online system is not accepting Visa and Mastercard from outside Malaysia. Bluewater ferries can be booked using Visa and Mastercard through the tiomanferry website.

Bamboo Hill is in Air Batang village (ABC). Some Cataferry departures do not stop at Air Batang jetty in which case you will need to take a taxi (RM10+) to the Marine Park HQ where we will meet you with the sidecar to carry luggage. It is a 15-20 minute walk from there to Bamboo Hill.

All ferries have been cancelled due to the travel restrictions in Malaysia. We will update this section when services return to normal.

We are in Air Batang (pronounced Ayer Batang) village, aka ABC, which is usually the 4th stop as the ferry disembarks passengers at the various villages on the island (Genting, Paya, Tekek, Air Batang and Salang).

We offer a free pick up service for luggage from the jetty if you let us know the time of the ferry you intend to take and whether it is from Mersing or Tanjung Gemok.
