It`s an amazing place.
cheap by western standards, beautiful location, clean, modern chalets (ours was just redone) and VERY friendly staff.
would go again anytime.

Tips for other travellers
just be mindfull that most restaurants are closed in the afternoon. otherwise, you can buy al the food you want at any of the 10 restaurants within 5 minutes of walking, and bamboo hill can lend you bikes to go to tekek if you need an actual store.

Everything was awesome from the moment we arrived to the jetty. The location both at large scale (beach facing sunset) and small scale – the chalet overlooking the beach – exceeded our expectations. Chalet was spacious and clean. We appreciated the kitchenette, perfect for breakfast, and of course the reusable water bottles we could fill at the reception, and the shopping bags. Also the bikes were very handy.

Tips for other travellers
For snorkeling from the Bamboo Hill beach the biodiversity was highest towards the ABC jetty (corals, blue spotted rays, boxfish, cuttlefish etc, even turtle). Do not have high expectations about food at the ABC.

We‘ve been lucky to find this wonderful place. Very nice and clean bungalow at a great spot at the beach and surrounded by a beautiful garden. Heartfelt hosts who help with everything. We‘d stay nowhere else on Tioman!

Tips for other travellers
Breakfast at ABC Restaurant, dinner rather at Fiqthya. Boat trips and snorkeling are a great thing to do!

Juara beach is definetly a place to go.

We had a fabulous stay at Bamboo Hill Chalet. From the warm welcome at the jetty to the minute we left, every detail was taken care of. The chalet had an astonishing view and lot of space for all our staff. Super clean and comfortable, the kitchenette to prepare breakfast and store food is a super plus, especially if you travel with kids like us. We’ve travelled a lot around South East Asia and this is with no doubts one of the best places we’ve ever stayed!

Tips for other travellers
The place is right on the beach, with calm and shallow water for the kids to swim in and a small fresh water river to play. There is also good snorkelling very close all along the bay. It’s at the very end of the beach so it’s very quiet, you sleep with the sounds of jungle and the sea. Just a few steps away a couple of cheap cafes and restaurants on the sea were we used to have lunch and dinner.

This place is a hidden gem of a place. Beautiful beach at your doorstep, a very laid back vibe and very friendly people make this the best location for a chilled holiday. There’s scuba diving, snorkelling, cycling and amazing food all in the mix. Suzi and her team will give you a warm welcome and all bend over backwards to make your stay amazing. I can’t wait to go back

tips for other travellers
Plan for a long days travelling as the ferry across from the mainland is very random due to the varying sea conditions. Also take plenty of bug spray!

Newly renovated chalet is beautiful – and has the best view of the entire beach. Really thoughtful touches – yoga mat, hammocks, drying line as well as usual tea / coffee etc. SUper comfy beds and spotlessly clean.
Su and Ben and the rest of the staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly – a lovely place to relax and be at peace.

Tips for other travellers
Just relax and be – no need to go anywhere else!

We had a great stay here. Booking was easy and well communicated. Sue was fantastic as a host. Helped us with everything even down to helping us with ferry times and helping with our coach booking on trip back to singapore. She always had time for us to speak to and in general it was just nice to have a chat with her now and again throughout our stay. We stayed in Bamboo 3 and had great views over the Bay. Hut was very well equiped – free coffee, water, fridge, hammocks, lantern and candle, mosquito spray although we found the insects to not be a problem. They also let you use snorkelling gear and have a few bikes you can use on a first come first served basis. Also had 2 lovely local Malaysian guys working there who would greet you with big smiles and ask how you are and willing to answer any questions. Overall we really recommend this place and much preferred our experience here to that of the Beyaja where we stayed a few nights before.

Would recommend booking trip to Coral Island
We found Hijau (1 min walk away) to be best for breakfast.
Would recommend the chicken satay on the popup stand 5 mins from Bamboo Hill.
